WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR PRX DERM PERFEXION?
PRX Derm Perfexion is a versatile formula that can be used to treat most skin concerns in all adult patients. It can be especially helpful for patients dealing with the following issues:
-
Fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of aging
-
Dull skin tone
-
Enlarged pores
-
Stretch marks
-
Sun damage
-
Flaky skin
-
Acne scars

While this treatment can be performed on most people, PRX Derm Perfexion is not a good choice for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, allergic to the contents of PRX Derm Perfexion’s formula, have active wounds in the targeted area, and have sensitive skin.

HOW DOES PRX DERM PERFEXION TREATMENT WORK?
PRX Derm Perfexion’s unique formula is able to achieve beautiful transformations in the skin by penetrating into the deep dermal and basal layers of the dermis to trigger the skin’s natural revitalizing processes. Each one of the formula’s active ingredients plays an important role in the process, leaving patients looking better than ever.

TRICHLOROACETIC ACID (TCA)
About 33% of the formula’s contents are Trichloroacetic acid, which serves as an exfoliant in various chemical peels. It also stimulates fibroblast growth and contains numerous anti-inflammatory properties. Beyond that, it has proven to be effective at destroying bacteria and microbes, while clearing away dirt particles that collect within the pores.
KOJIC ACID
This potent chemical agent is known for its ability to halt melanin production. It can improve uneven skin tone, mitigate hyperpigmentation, and give the skin a more vibrant, healthier aesthetic.
HYDROGEN PEROXIDE
When applied to the skin, hydrogen peroxide causes a release of oxygen that simultaneously clears out redundant particles. It also temporarily lowers the defenses of skin cells, making them more receptive to other ingredients and increasing the efficacy of the treatment.

The treatment is known for being quick and virtually painless. The first step involves a full cleansing of the skin. From there, the PRX Derm Perfexion solution can be applied to the treatment area and gently massaged into the skin for proper absorption. The solution is usually applied multiple times throughout the treatment session. Patients typically receive between two and five applications, depending on their needs and their practitioner’s judgment. The skin is cleansed after each application, and a moisturizer is applied at the end of the treatment.
The entire procedure usually lasts only 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the scope of the treatment area. While mild tingling and itching are common side effects, they are quite tolerable and patients will not need any numbing agents.

WHAT IS THE RECOVERY PROCESS LIKE?
Following the procedure, slight warmness and inflammation around the treatment site are normal for the first few hours. As previously mentioned, this procedure is not associated with the dry, peeling skin that comes with a skin peel. Nonetheless, some peeling will happen, particularly in areas of the skin of higher thickness. Swelling in areas where the skin is more sensitive (the skin around the eyes, for example) is also common and to be expected. Any side effects from the treatment will improve within the first week.
